Loading exemptions on red routes are narrow, time-limited and heavily camera-enforced, so we plan around them rather than relying on them. Where the side return has been filled in, the old external wall is now an internal one and still carries its render, its gutter line and its old fixings. Alcoves either side of the breast are rarely the same width and rarely parallel, so each one is templated as its own piece with its own scribe. No stone is ever cut from a plan. The island is the whole job here — get the exact spine position and the overhang for stools agreed on site before templating, because clients change their mind about seating after the units land.

Uniform terraces with small front gardens, permit-only parking that is full by 9am, and no vehicle access to the rear at all. On a heavily veined stone the island and the run behind it are nested off the same area of slab so the movement relates across the room. The template records every angle in that shape as it actually is rather than as the plan drew it. Real angles, not plan angles. Sill height gets settled with the template on site, because it is one of the few dimensions nobody has measured before we arrive. The laser plots it as it is, at the exact height the worktop will sit, and the drawing carries that through. Plotted, not estimated. Units fixed and packed level over the sloping floor, walls replastered and dry at their final thickness (tiling and splashbacks go on after the worktop, never before), and the sink, tap and hob physically on site, with a Belfast sink built in and set at its finished height. The same building type can arrive as a careful one-off kitchen or as a fast turnaround, and the honest answer is that they are priced differently.
