Worktop templating in Beam Park
A digital template plotting the room as it really is, taken once your units are fitted, fixed and level.
Beam Park kitchens
What the kitchens here are actually like
The room is square, the walls are plumb and the floor is flat, so almost every complication in the job belongs to the building rather than the kitchen. No stone is ever cut from a plan, which is why the visit happens after the units are in and not before. The room as it is, to the millimetre.
New development on former Ford-related land straddling the Havering boundary, so kitchens are almost all developer-fitted open-plan runs in apartments and townhouses — one wall, 2.4-3.2m, integrated appliances, no island except in the wider houses. Upgrades to stone happen early here, often within a couple of years of moving in, with the units left completely untouched.
Live construction next door means the agreed access route can change week to week, so we re-confirm the route the day before rather than at template.
Access is a question about the plot rather than the house: a narrow frontage between older buildings with nowhere obvious to stand a van. New-build rooms are genuinely square, but they are dot-and-dab plasterboard, and the taped internal angle is where it goes wrong - the board bellies at the corner and the run picks up a few millimetres over the last 300mm. Two to three hours, once the units are in.
What we are usually templating in is 2010s-2020s apartment block, new-build townhouse and adjacent post-war housing. That mix is why two jobs on the same road can run completely differently.
True everywhere
Worktop templating, in short
- Two to three hours on site for a typical kitchen.
- Units must be fitted, fixed and level first. No stone is ever cut from a plan.
- Sink, tap and hob must be physically on site, not just ordered.
- A Belfast or butler sink must be installed and at its final height.
Covered from the Essex patch. Fitted 3–7 working days from template.
new-build flats and apartments
Getting stone into the room
Newly built streets with allocated parking, shared surfaces, controlled block entrances and lifts, plus ongoing construction traffic that can close a route without warning.

What gets asked for here
Housings and integrated appliances are set out for a 38mm laminate top, so dropping to 20mm or 30mm stone changes the clearances and needs checking before anything is cut. Two to three hours on site, with the sink, tap and hob physically present. Appliances on site, not on order.
The research on this patch does not put this among the three commonest jobs. Worktop replacement, worktop splashbacks & upstands and worktop installation do. That changes how often we are here, not how the work is done.

Tell us what the approach looks like when you book the template and it gets built into the day rather than discovered on it. Where the route is genuinely tight, it changes how the pieces are cut, which is a fabrication decision rather than a delivery one.

Questions
Worktop templating in Beam Park
If yours is not here, ring and ask. You get a straight answer rather than a call-back from a salesperson.
Is Beam Park on your patch?
Yes. Beam Park is on the patch, and the postcodes we work here are RM13, RM9. It is run from the Essex side, covering Essex & East London. On an event day the controls are wider, tighter and enforced harder than the signage suggests on any other morning of the week. The templating visit needs somewhere to stop for two or three hours, which is a different problem from unloading for twenty minutes. Two hours is the realistic figure. We template in your kitchen and fit in your kitchen, so there is nothing to visit and nothing to collect.
Why would worktop templating in Beam Park be any different from anywhere else?
Access is a question about the plot rather than the house: a narrow frontage between older buildings with nowhere obvious to stand a van. The room is square and the plasterboard is not, so the internal corner is recorded as it is rather than as ninety degrees. Two to three hours, once the units are in. Live construction next door means the agreed access route can change week to week, so we re-confirm the route the day before rather than at template.
How would you get a worktop into a property in Beam Park?
Newly built streets with allocated parking, shared surfaces, controlled block entrances and lifts, plus ongoing construction traffic that can close a route without warning. The lift has to be booked and blanketed before anything moves, and that booking needs to cover the old tops coming out as well as the new stone going in. The templater measures that route on the same visit, so the drawing leaves site already knowing the maximum piece. The laser records it along with everything else. Tell us what the approach looks like when you book the template and it gets built into the day rather than discovered on it.
Is Beam Park really a worktop templating area?
Not particularly, and it would be easy to pretend otherwise. What the research on this patch actually lists is worktop replacement, worktop splashbacks & upstands and worktop installation. That is a statement about the local housing rather than about the work. It is quoted, cut and fitted exactly the same way here as anywhere else on the patch. Developer-fitted kitchens come with thin cam-lock carcasses, which are fine under laminate and want bracing before stone goes on them. The template visit is booked once the units are genuinely in, not when they are nearly in. The room as it is, not as it was drawn. Housings and integrated appliances are set out for a 38mm laminate top, so dropping to 20mm or 30mm stone changes the clearances and needs checking before anything is cut. Two to three hours on site, with the sink, tap and hob physically present. Appliances on site, not on order.
What moves the number on a quote around here?
Galley runs are usually short enough to come out of a single slab, so the material band you choose does more to the total than the room shape does. Join positions and vein direction are marked on the template drawing before it leaves site. One datum for the whole room. Material is £110-£550 per square metre supply only, and templating, fabrication and fitting are quoted on their own lines.
What needs to be ready before you come to Beam Park?
A lightweight stud partition will not carry a breakfast bar or a peninsula end, and stone finds that out faster than laminate ever did. It is recorded on the drawing with the run dimensions so the workshop is not guessing. That is why the visit takes two or three hours. Boards taped or skimmed and finished, units fixed back to the wall and levelled off, and the appliances on site - the wall must be at its final thickness on template day, so no tiler or splashback fitter gets ahead of the worktop. Mixed ownership means the decision-maker is not always the person who lets us in, so it is worth being clear early about who signs the quote off. The templater needs the sink, tap and hob on site, and a Belfast sink installed at its final height. No stone is cut from a plan.
